The View rips Trump aide’s immigration meltdown: ‘The president doesn’t have basic English skills!’

On Thursday’s edition of “The View,” the panel tore into White House senior aide Stephen Miller’s bizarre rant at Wednesday’s press briefing in which the off-putting ultra-conservative Miller defended immigration policies that favor English speakers.“I bet they’ll let them in if they speak Russian,” said Joy Behar.“I took personal offense to it because many people know Spanish is my first language,” said co-host Sunny Hostin.

“I learned English when I was five. The suggestion somehow that you have to speak English in order to merit being an American, it’s just shocking to me.” “But you have to consider the messenger here,” she continued before running down a brief list of the many reasons to mistrust Miller and his extreme far-right agenda. She quoted Miller’s high school letter to the editor lamenting that students at his school with Latino roots “lack basic English skills.” “But you know what,” said Behar, “even the president doesn’t have ‘basic English skills.'”
